There comes a day in every child’s life when they will get old enough to sleepover at a friend’s or a grandparents’ place. If that time has finally dawned on you, then here are few things you can do to make the most of their time away from home.

Have a Long, Uninterrupted Soak in the Tub

If you are a full time stay at home mom, then regardless to how old your child is, one thing we are pretty sure you have had enough of, is having to sacrifice your me time. Above all, not getting used the shower in peace, without worrying about your kids being up to something or them banging on the door needing something is a blessing on its own. With your child being out of the house for the day, give in to yourself and indulge yourself a little. Take a long shower or soak in the tub until you feel well and truly relaxed. Trust us, you’ve earned it!

Leave the Kitchen Closed For the Day

No children? No kitchen! Leave the cooking and the cleaning alone for the day. If you want to have a lazy day at home with your spouse, go for it! Order in, and eat straight from the takeout boxes; no dishes to deal with! However, if you haven’t been out in a while, and could really use the break away from home; make reservations for the best seafood restaurant in Melbourne Southbank that you can afford. Not one for fancy? Even your local diners and a date there will be more enjoyable without having a third wheel distracting you from each other.

Watch a Movie At Home That Doesn’t Cater To Kids

If your household is like any other that has little kids, then the majority of the time, it’s the kids who own the TV’s remote. As a result, if you ever do watch a movie at home, it most probably is a children’s movie. Since your little one is not at home for the day, you can watch an adult-friendly movie without hesitation. You can keep the volume as loud as you want, and you don’t even need to fast forward if the scenes become a little steamy. As a bonus, remember to make yourself some microwave popcorn when you’re renting the movie.

Sleep Until Noon and Eat Breakfast Right in Bed

If your child being away from home happens to fall during the weekend, you should be jumping for joy! This inevitably means you need not wake up early the next day. You can very well choose to sleep until noon if you so desire, or say rolling around the bed until you are well and truly ready to leave the bed. If you are lucky, you might get breakfast in bed. But even if you have to make it yourself, you won’t be setting a bad example if you carry the food back to the bed or eat it in front of the TV. Make sure to hide the evidence though!
